Supplies For Our Armies (1942)

Titles read: “SUPPLIES FOR OUR ARMIES - EXCLUSIVE“. Somewhere in England. At a Royal Ordnance Depot we see various shots of army supplies in warehouses and storerooms, as commentator gives us the cost of several different items. Men work on tank and car engines, power units. Girls work in a large spare-parts unit, picking orders and putting goods on conveyor belts. In underground storage galleries and tunnels hundreds of boxes of small-arms ammunition are kept. We then see searchlights, pontoons, army motorbikes and sidecars, tanks (“ready to take on board their British or Russian crews“), replacement gun barrels, Howitzer field-guns. Men unload shells from the trucks of an underground train, and put the explosives on a conveyor belt. Shells for the Howitzers are piled up by some men. A .22 bullet is compared with some large shells by an army officer. Commentator ends by saying “To put the shells in we’ve got to “Shell out“ - and I hope every one of ’em lands in the middle of the perishers
