Australian Organised White-Collar Crime Is Running Rampant

In the past week, the ASIC Inquiry chaired by Senator Bragg held another day of public hearings into ASIC. The inquiry heard from more witnesses who called out ASIC’s outright failure to properly supervise the Australian share market and enforce the laws of the Parliament of Australia. This public hearing coincides with additional data provided by the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecution (CDPP) which shows the number of criminal referrals from ASIC to the CDPP has collapsed over the last 5 years. This evidence is in that ASIC under the Longo-Court leadership team has been an abject failure. All of this sets the stage for John Adams who will be testifying at the ASIC inquiry on 1 November 2023, largely about the Adams Report which was published in October 2022.
