how to repair koiguchi of a shinken or a iaito

Hello dear Ronins, Don’t forget to like and subscribe ! to let me know that you have appreciated the video, this video is about repairing the koiguchi on a shinken or a iaito : - loose of fitting between habaki and koiguchi (ha side or mune side or sides of the blade) the blade slide out of the saya without any push - new koiguchi too tight and you can’t correctly close the sword in the saya, neither draw back or draw out correctly the sword without using your two hands strength This is my way to proceed not the best way of iai/batto/kenjutsu japanese masters for sure but until here it is a traditional and safe method with which I had sucess in my practice of tameshigiri / battodo and iai. Here the kit available for magnolia wood for koiguchi / scalpel / glue in europe : For the other tools (scissors/brush/thin wood files etc) you will easyly find them on the web. As budoka - 12 years of karate practice in shitoryu formally trained and unformally trained since two years in iai/batto with physical (when dojo is open) and online dojo class this channel just represent my opinion and journey as martial artist and it is not the absolute truth of what it is or what should be budo, I am not japanese neither a master in iaido. I recommend you to experience a formal dojo class in the more suitable style (Niten Ichi Ryu, Shushin Ryu, Muso Shinden Ryu, Toyama Ryu, Eishin Ryu, Katori Shinto Ryu, Tenshinryu Hyoho) for making your own opinion about shinken market, correct way to practice and to stay safe in your practice of iai/batto/kenjutsu. Stay focused, mind sharp and body healthy. Sincerly budo RH
