Hard Meat, Through A Window 1970 (vinyl record)

Artist: Hard Meat Album: “Through A Window“ Genre: Psychedelic Rock, Progressive Rock, Folk Rock Release year: 1970 Country: UK *** Hard Meat is a two-album group from Birmingham (Birmingham), which included the brothers Mick Dolan (vocals, guitars) and Steve Dolan (bass guitar), as well as drummer Mick Carless. The name of the group (“Hard Meat”) is misleading. The band members, in fact, preferred to play in different styles, easily moving from blues rock to folk, and from folk to psychedelia, and vice versa. The group released 2 albums in 1970 and then fell apart. By the way, they recorded on Warner Brothers, no less. The second and last album of the trio from Birmingham. For the recording of the second album additional musicians were involved - Peter Westbrook (flute) and Phil Jump (keyboards). Mick Dolan expanded its range to acoustic guitar (6- and 12-string) and harmonics, and Steve Dolan used various enhancements and gadgets. But the drummer was a guy who did not miss, using castanets, a congas, and various acoustic noises. The melodies are wonderful, the guitar losses are great. All compositions are very psychedelic and diverse. *** Mick Dolan - lead vocals, electric & acoustic guitar, harmonica Steve Dolan - electric & string bass, vocals Mick Carless - drums, percussion, castanets, congas, assorted loud noises Peter Westbrook - flute Phil Jump - keyboards
