Throwing, Trimming and Attaching A Delicate, Decorative Line

Throwing a large, lined vessel, (you’ll see what ‘lined’ means towards the end of this video). Thrown from 3.5 kilograms of high iron stoneware clay, trimmed thereafter once leather hard and finally a coil of soft clay is attached to one side and is moulded into its sharp shape. Trimming the foot-well displays the infamous chin turning technique, although not framed brilliantly, where the looped tool is tucked under my chin to keep it stable as I’m turning so high up. This pot, and a few more like it, have now been bisque fired and are waiting to be glazed.
