Amelea - Lydia Night (Official Music Video)

This is the 3rd single off my album “Channel 9“ (coming 9/9)! This song is the reason I started ’amelea’-- after its first draft 2 years ago, I got really excited and wanted to make a music video for it, and spent a majority of that summer filming and editing. But then I didn’t really know what to do with it since the only platform I had for my music projects was Soundcloud. So I decided to start an Instagram, YouTube, etc, yadayada and theeeen since it’s now 2 years later, I made the decision to rerecord the song and .... rerecord the video. Around the time I released Brick Dollhouse, I got out of bed at 2AM and crawled onto my floor and drew out the whole storyboard for this music video. I’ve been dreading having to actually film it though since it required so many different days for filming, but I eventually got it done. (Also the fact I already worked so hard on the first version of the music video for this song... that’s a slightly painful thought. Maybe I can show you guys that version sometime?) Am I allowed to say “This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, business, events and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination. Any resemblance to actual persons or events is purely coincidental“ if I plain out say the person’s name in the title and lyrics? Anyway, if you haven’t heard of Lydia Night, you should check out her band “The Regrettes“-- they’re super cool! Aaand GIRLI (!) - The superficiality of my character and the lyrics are meant as satire. Sure, it’s uh... maybe all a true story (So is my “This is a work of fiction“ disclaimer really a dirty lie?) but when you dress up as an “idol“ it’s not about looks-- it’s about “trying on“ their confidence. All the ladies/people I mention in this song are BADASS, speaking up on their views on feminism, politics, and not giving a darn what people think.
