Israelis Call on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Step Down

Residents on the streets of Tel Aviv are calling for Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to step down. Netanyahu has already been facing backlash domestically in recent months prior to the outbreak of violence this past week that has seen hundreds of Israelis and Palestinians killed. This past summer, thousands of protesters marched into Jerusalem to protest the Netanyahu government’s plan for potential judicial overhaul, which would have stripped Israel’s Supreme Court of the ability to block government decisions that it deemed unreasonable. Others are frustrated at Netanyahu’s decision earlier this year to advance the planning and promotion of more than 4,000 settlement units in the occupied West Bank.
