That One Show with the Ninja Dogs

You can still buy this series at the grocery store, every library has the DVD, & it was so savage they can’t even air it again. I think it shows up somewhere in a cell phone game but that’s it. There’s no mention of it in any of their timelines, and they don’t make a lot of merch for it which is really weird. Maybe they don’t own it anymore? Known as Silver Fang, & Ginga Nagareboshi gin, it follows a pack of dogs racing through japan in search of stray warriors to attack the evil bear kingdom that’s slowly washing over japan. Manly dogs fight manly things, and if it weren’t about dogs hunting bears you could replace the cast with japanese samurai & it’d pretty much be the same. It was followed up by another series, but while it has it’s moments, it was very low budget (read the manga instead). Even with the many sequels, it’s surprising not well known in the west. Every single person who grew up in Scandinavia grew up with this show at one point. Mad anime dogs attack bears, but some of the best moments don’t even have dogs, & the early episodes are my favorite. The power of the songs is something to mention too. There’s a vocal theme song for most of the bear fights & they pump you up with 80s synth like you wouldn’t believe. Kenny Lauderdale (me) reviews this shonen jump series that Japan & finland have been talking about since the 80s. Definitely an anime I recommend. Keep your eyes on the mountains, there’s bears afoot. They don’t make anime like ginga nagareboshi gin anymore but they really should. Let me know if you want to recap anime like this in the future. I like giving out anime recommendations but it’s getting harder if there isn’t some huge story behind them. Support: More Videos:
