There was a specific reason Rose protected Chris from the cop! While on the way to meet Rose’s family, a cop pulls Rose and Chrisover and asks to see Chris’ ID. In defence of her boyfriend, Rose stops the cop from seeing his ID under a pretence of protecting him from being racially profiled. The real reason she stopped the cop seeing it was that she didn;t want the cop to remember his name if he goes missing.
