Tru Story - Adventures in the NICU

Tru Beare was born 14 weeks premature and weighing just 1 pound, but this wee warrior fought from her first breath on. Her adventures were filled with love, laughs and tears as she overcame numerous medical hurdles (Chronic Lung Disease, 2 battles with NEC, 2 Blood Clots, Sepsis, Staphylococcus, PDA, Congenital Heart Defect, Retinopathy, MRSA, etc) and endured extensive treatments and procedures (7 blood transfusions, 1 round of DEX, 4 rounds of antibiotics, and countless x-rays and ultrasounds). This video is an uplifting look on the most challenging, yet rewarding time of our lives. Special Thank You to: Royal Columbia Hospital for saving both Tru and her momma. Nurse Anna for showing us the way. Dr. Andreana Butter for encouraging, educating and consoling us. B.C. Woman’s NICU… our primary nurses Mel, Krista, Samantha, and doctors Laura, Matt, and Brigitta, just to name a few. You are all heroes in the truest sense of the word! Easter Seals for providing us with a home away from home. Our family and friends for pouring on the support and love. Everyone who had reached out to us, left comments on Facebook and Instagram, or had donated, made a world of difference in our lives. The Tanning Studio staff and clients, and our extended families at Kingfishers, Dominion Lending Centres Mountain View, Uvalux, Agency Media and the entire Westlund Group. You all showed us we were never alone
