Using the AtoV 16n faderbank in VCV rack for sequencing, transposing, scaling and modulation
This patch is an example showing some possibilities of the AtoV 16n faderbank in VCV rack for sequencing, transposing, scaling and modulation.
Two voices get a sequence of respectively 7 and 6 steps. Voltage are coming from the 16n faders through a clocked sequential switch, attenuator (for control over the range) and S&H using a n/4 division as input, where n equals the number of steps.
Fader 15 is controlling global scaling of both sequences (from 0V to around 4V). Fader 16 controls transposition, controlled by a cv adressed sequential switch fed by voltages corresponding to 2, 5, 7 and 10 semitones.
The last available fader acts as a macro control, modulating fm depth, env decay, delay send level for both voices, at the same time mixing noise through a filter (and modulating it).
The oscillators are patched through a vca into the mixer. Envelopes are being triggered by the quantizer, only when there’s a change in pitch. By patching it this way, setting global scaling to 0V will cause the quantizer to stop sending triggers. You could also detach the triggering from the quantizer and use a clock or trigger or euclidean sequencer (same goes for the sequential switches fed by the 16n voltages!).
