Meyer’s Rose - Longsword, Dussack, Rapier, and Quarterstaff
After a two day seminar on the transitional period of KDF (1490-1530), Adam Franti of the Lansing Longsword Guild and James Reilly of the WHFA Kenosha/Racine made a quick video on the techniques of the Rose featured by various weapons in Meyer’s 1570. The video was made from memory, and in only a few short minutes, so in some cases, there are small deviations from the text. That said, the core of the text is represented here. The goal is to attempt to glean some sort of cogent theory of Meyer’s rose.
Please feel free to add your thoughts on what you think Meyer’s Rose to mean.
