Part 3 Slow Stitching Vegetable Garden #roxysjournalofstitchery Down the Garden Path, potager

Join me as I work on my slow stitched re-creation of the ornate vegetable garden at Chateau de Villandry in France. I share my approach to beading and stitching little Paris Market carrots on a textured ribbon base. Then on to a bed of richly coloured beetroot’s with double French knot leaves. Thrilled to share my easy way to repurpose freezer bag metal ties to make stump work stems and leaves that rise off the piece and can be flexibly bent to form the shape you want. And then to the trees: ruby apples, juicy lemons, silvery green olive and autumn plum. Thanks for all the great suggestions so far of what I should “plant” next for my autumn garden and feel free to add to the list by leaving a comment. Cheers, Christine
