Genesis - Riding the Scree - Sheet Music + PDF

PDF can be found at Some useful gumpf; click on SHOW MORE (just below). Like my Slipperman vid, I’ve created my own audio but have added the original Genesis track low in the background. This is one of my favourite TB solos alongside Apocalypse, Cinema, Robbery and Quiet Earth. ARP Pro-Solist (PS) definitely to the fore in this one!! The PS had a form of monophonic aftertouch (which could be assigned to several different parameters simultaneously!) long before it became popular in the eighties. Yes, the legendary Yamaha CS80 (Vangelis) had aftertouch in the mid-seventies but the PS predates even that beauty! :) Nowadays, there seem to be fewer & fewer keyboards that have this form of expression :( I suspect that this expressivity was one of the main reasons Tony used this synth when most other top keyboardists at the time used either the MiniMoog or the ARP Odyssey. That and the fact that it was a preset synth, so changing sounds was much easier than with either of the other two. With those other two ’biggies’ of the time, expression was achieved using the left hand on the pitch-bend and modulation wheels on the Moog and differing left-hand controllers depending on which version of the Odyssey one had. Because Tony’s solos always (at some point) have a left-hand chordal accompaniment, it meant he could do pitch-bend with just the right hand. Which is precisely what he does in this piece! The rest of my notes will have to be put in a Comment as they’re (no surprise) too long for this description box...!!! Please visit my channel for further vids :) The audio was created using Presonus Studio One 3 with the following plugins: ARP Pro-Soloist - AM Music Technology ProSoloVst Hammond T102 Organ - GSi VB3 Hammond B3 It’s scored using Sibelius 7.5
