Robert Ahwai - When Bongo Smiles

Robert Ahwai in 2003 has recorded an album of his own, it’s entitled “Trinidad“ Chris Rea :Production and Paintings, Jazzee Blue Label Album’s. After years of playing alongside Chris Rea and many other respected artists, guitarist Robert Ahwai has finally released an album of his own. It has been released on Jazzee Blue, the label set up by Chris Rea himself. The album is full of very laid back, exotic rhythms and tasteful melodies which conjure up magnificent images of Robert’s homeland in the Caribbean. It is a perfect soundtrack to your summer holiday, and if you aren’t going anywhere nice, you can just close your eyes and let the music take you there. Robert Ahwai has been a member of Chris Rea’s band since 1986, and he has collaborated and toured with several artists and bands, such as, Rock Jazz singer Linda Lewis, Brian Eno & John Cale, George Michael and Wham, Marvin Gaye, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Kylie Minogue, Mick Taylor Band, Rick Astley and Elkie Brooks.
