Norway: BEAC members adopt action plan on climate change - Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the Barents Euro-Arctic Council (BEAC) members have adopted a climate change action plan until 2025, speaking in Tromso on Tuesday after the 18th ministerial session of the BEAC. “The goal is to take into account climatic aspects in all project activities of the Barents Euro-Arctic Council. I think this is very, very important,” he said at a joint news conference with his Norwegian and Finnish counterparts Anniken Huitfeldt and Pekka Haavisto. He added that the members had agreed to create the Barents Financial Mechanism to help fund common projects in the region.
