Clifford Brown, ’Summertime’ (George Gershwin)

Clifford Brown (1930-1956) was one of the great American jazz trumpeters. He died at the age of 25 in a car accident, leaving behind four years’ worth of recordings. He plays ’Summertime’, an aria composed in 1934 by George Gershwin (1898-1937) for the 1935 opera ’Porgy and Bess’. Recorded live in the album ‘Dinah Washington With Clifford Brown’ (1954).
