The World’s Largest Underwater Restaurant – Under in Lindesnes, Norway
Restaurant Under in Lindesnes, Norway is the largest underwater restaurant in the world and the first of its kind in Europe. Designed by acclaimed architecture firm Snøhetta, it is without a doubt one of the most anticipated restaurant openings of the year. Head chef Nicolai Ellitsgaard has developed a sustainable menu mostly based on local seafood and forest plants. A lot of former Maaemo staff make up the front of house team. To get to Under, you have to fly or take a train to Kristiansand, rent a car, and drive the last hour to the most southern tip of Norway – Lindesnes Fyr. You can stay at the lighthouse if you book early enough, and if not, there are plenty of rooms at Lindesnes Havhotel right next to the restaurant. As you arrive, you’ll see the impressive structure emerging like a submarine coming out of the water. On the way down to the dining room, there is a window that shows exactly when you go below the water surface. Are you ready to dine among the fishes?
