My deer friends 2017 - Deer in the Yard

After a year and a half in my new house, I have gotten to know my neighborhood deer, and one of them, Susie, loves to have me scratch her. All the other deer are too shy, but Susie’s sister Zoe always watches when I scratch Susie. Finally, after all this time, Zoe got up the courage to give human touch a try. For those concerned, our local deer have been hanging out around humans for about 40 years. They are very cautious with strangers, and because hunting is not allowed where our local deer wander, their major concern is coyotes and mountain lions.
