Muslim Hassan Shaggan- Raag Purvi

Muslim Hassan, aged 16, is the grandson of the legendary exponent of Gwalior gharana gayaki, Ustad Ghulam Hassan Shaggan. This excerpt is from Muslim’s first public performance at the 9th LMF Monthly Concert taken place at the Al-Hamra Art Centre on 25th November 2011. Accompanying artists are Kashif Ali Dhani (Tabla), uncle Qadir Ali Shaggan (Harmonium), Mohammad Aslam (Harmonium), Shafqat Ali (Sarangi), Ghulam Sabir (Tanpura) and Nazeer Ahmed (Tanpura).
