Japan begins releasing Fukushima water

The long-anticipated move came after Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida visited the facility that was wrecked by a devastating earthquake and tsunami in 2011. Kishida also met with fishing groups, telling them the government would bear “full responsibility” for the impact of releasing the tainted water into the sea.
