What would happen if recruitment for employment was colour-blind and free of racial prejudice?

It is often claimed that racism prevents black people gaining certain professional roles such as Chemistry Professors and so on. An exciting innovation promised to put an end to any possibility of racism in employment, but alas, black people are not keen on the idea!
