The project announces a new version for the distribution’s continuous release series called ROME. The ROME snapshot offers new versions, including server builds without a graphical user interface. Adding images that include the LXQt desktop and images for various aarch64-based devices such as the Raspberry Pi 4 and 400, Rock 5B, the new version introduces Plasma ’Slim’ ISO images and minimal Plasma 5 media and aims to give users the freedom to build what they really need. While it is stated that this is an unplanned release for the OpenMandriva rolling release model ROME ; It is said that careful work is being done to ensure that Plasma 5 and Plasma 6 packages can be found together when necessary. ROME and the upcoming OMLx Rock 5.1 (fixed point version) will go down in history as the last set of build patterns to deliver the Plasma 5 desktop. The system is configured on Linux kernel; The KDE Plasma (and ) desktop environment is available with KDE Gear (and ), KDE Frameworks (and ), Qt (and ).
