BBC 4 - Factory Records The story of the world famous Manchester based label - Factory Records and it’s inception in the punk era in the late 70’s bringing bands such as Joy Division, the Durutti Column and a Certain Ratio to a worldwide audience through to the 80’s were after the unfortunate death of Joy Division’s legendary singer Ian Curtis - Joy Division became reformed as New Order one of the most influential electronic bands of the 80’s through to the 90’s with Shaun Ryder and the Happy Mondays and the birth of Acid House and the Hacienda.
