Hawker Siddeley Trident | Rise and fall of the mighty trijet
The Hawker Siddeley HS-121 Trident - a mid-range passenger aircraft, developed by the De Havilland Aircraft Company and manufactured by the Hawker Siddeley group. It is the first jet airliner in the world to have a T-tail and three engines in the aft section - the Boeing 727 and Tu-154 can be considered its brothers in the East and West.
The Trident can be considered one of the most technologically advanced airliners of its time, which introduced many serious innovations into the aviation industry. In this video, we will explore the Hawker Siddeley Trident, its design, solutions and history from the rise of a promising program to the sunset of the short era of the failed leader.
