British Colonialism and English Education in our time

Education of a colonial languages like English, French or Spanish is hampered by its colonial history, where language was used not as tool of communication but as a way to administer and wield the colonial power. English Ridicule was an aspect that worried most of its users, especially in countries like India. Getting some kind of respect from superior authority was a part of Indian psyche. Ridicule of any kind would mire the confidence of such users. That fear continues even today in the 21st century. It is against the actual facts. English is a simple language with simple logical structure. The syntax of which is easily learnable and anyone can get proficiency and fluency with a little effort. For which we must change our perspective to language. We must consider language like English as tool for intercultural communication or a lingua franca.
