RADAR Comeback @ IDeeJazz 2012

Festival IDeeJazz 2012 Stage: Tartu Uus Teater RADAR COMEBACK: “TIPPTUND KESKLINNAS“ Radar: Sergei Pedersen - keyboards Aare Põder - keyboards Nevil Blumberg - guitar Raul Vaigla - bass Paap Kõlar - drums Andrus Lillepea - drums RADAR (1977-1988) was reknown all over the former Soviet Union territories and even further, playing on great tours (with up to seven concerts a day!) with singer Jaak Joala. With the years the band left the status of being a professional accompaniment ensemble and became an independent instrumental collective. During that the members changed many times. Many musicians have on different times played in RADAR: Jaak Joala, who also played the bass in the early days; Andres Põldroo (guitar); Harri Kõrvits (drums); Sergei Pedersen (keyboards), with the nickname Pontso, being the author of many RADAR songs, one of the senior “radarians“; Vladimir Sheripov (bass); for a short period the band was visited by Raivo Parind and Voldemar Potjomin; Riho Lilje (guitar); Paap Kõlar (percussions), whose drumset was a miracle those days, also one of the band’s seniors; Toivo Unt (bass); Nevil Blumberg (guitar); Raul Vaigla (bass); Aare Põder (keyborads); Valeri Belinov (guitar), nowadays known as Val Belin or King B; Paul Kikerpuu (bass) and Raivo Narits (keyboards). The sisters Ele and Kaja Kõlar also sang with RADAR. Raivo Seersant was the manager. Video by Juho Jalviste
