Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is a mostly indoors amusement park on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. It is the first Ferrari-branded theme park and has the record for the largest space frame structure ever Rossa, the world’s fastest roller coaster, is also located here. Covering over 900,000 square feet, Ferrari World is the largest indoor theme park in the world, shaped like a massive three-pointed star when viewed from above, featuring a 215-foot version of Ferrari’s yellow prancing horse logo on the curved red roof. Inside the theme park, visitors have the opportunity to visit an operating Ferrari factory, take a spin on a real Ferrari, and wander through a gallery of 70 years of Ferrari models. The “Bell’Italia” ride takes visitors on a Ferrari ride through a miniature diorama of the marvels of Italy, including Venice, the Roman Colosseum, the Amalfi Coast, and, of course, Ferrari’s hometown of Maranello. Fittingly, the park is also home to the world’s tallest roller coaster loop and the famous “Formula Rossa,” a thrill ride that sets the world record for roller coaster speed with a maximum velocity of 149mph. Other diversions includes the Flying Aces roller coaster, boasting the world’s biggest loop and steepest/fastest incline cable lift; a Ferrari Driving Experience around the island with with a company-certified driver (from Dhs695 extra); and an imaginative 4D adventure. The layout of this roller coaster has been designed so that the train reproduces the movement and figures of a bi-plane. To emphasize the experience, the front of the train has been designed like the front of a small airplane used for acrobatic figures, and the particular seating arrangement (4 passengers per row, whereas the outer 2 seats are aside of the track) enhances the flying sensation. Ferrari World breaks a number of records, operating now the coaster with the steepest (51° angle) and fastest (up to 29 km/h) cable lift, and the tallest non-inverted loop with a height of 52 m.
