Nirvana - Oh, the Guilt [Lyrics]

Songwriter: Kurt Cobain Writing Period: 1990 Recording Session: 07/04/92 Laundry Room Studio, Seattle, WA Common Mislabels: It Takes a Time - Oh, My Guilt April ’92 saw NIRVANA return to the studio for the first time following the huge success of Nevermind. Producer, Barrett Jones, had built a studio in the basement of the Seattle house he and his girlfriend shared with Dave Grohl. According to Jones, the whole session took only two or three days to track and mix. Three songs were recorded on a Tascam 38 (½“ 8-track) w/DBX and mixed to ¼“ at 15 IPS. Jones does not think that any outtakes or alternate versions were saved. Note that “Oh, The Guilt“ was released exclusively on Touch & Go Records as a split single with The Jesus Lizard at Cobain’s insistence, although DGC did not want to give away another new song to another indie label. Jones recalls the session being Quick and smooth, adding, “Yes, that’s a lighter that Kurt was flicking in ’Oh The Guilt.’“ from Disc 2 of “With the Lights Out“ Lyrics She seems to think She seems too weak She takes a week To get over it She likes the sea She likes to see She likes to think She has all of it She likes the sound She likes the sand She likes to stand She can’t afford to sit She likes to be She likes to be She likes to be She’s into guilt Guilt Guilt Guilt She likes to think She likes to think She seems too weak She takes all the blame She likes the time She owns the time She borrows time As to self-invent She seems too weak She likes the sea She likes to think She has all of it She likes the sand She likes to stand She likes to sit She likes to go Go Go Go She seems to think She seems to weak She takes a week To get over it She likes the sea She likes to see She likes to think She has all of it She likes the sound She likes the sand She likes to stand She can’t afford to sit She likes to be She likes to be She likes to be She likes to go Go Go Go Go Go Go Go
