“Waltz of the Flowers“ is an immortal musical composition from the ballet “The Nutcracker“, which creates a magical and festive atmosphere for the audience. The music for the ballet The Nutcracker (1892) was written by the Russian composer to a libretto by Marius Petipa based on the fairy tale “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” by the German storyteller . Hoffmann (1816). The ballet premiered in December 1892 at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg. The fairy tale story takes place during the Christmas holidays, and therefore music from the ballet is traditionally most popular on Christmas and New Year’s.
