Colt Clark and the Quarantine Kids play “Waffle House“

Hey guys! Tonight’s song is a departure from the songs we usually cover. I heard this one on the radio a few weeks ago and I knew we had to do it. Colt and I both come from families with three kids. I’m the oldest and I have a younger sister, and brother. Colt is the middle with an older brother and younger brother. We went on to have three kids of our own. This song is about that sibling relationship. Occasionally people will email us, or comment asking if our kids ever argue. The answer is, of course, yes. Colt and I used to argue with our siblings too. I’m not sure I know of any siblings with a close relationship that don’t occasionally argue. The arguing can sometimes be a good reminder that they feel close enough with each other to share their true feelings and frustrations. Ignoring each other doesn’t give you anything to build on. Colt and I are so thankful for parents that raised us to truly love each of our siblings. They are our best friends. That’s what this song is about. Working through frustrations, deep conversations, and even deeper love. The sibling relationship is the longest lasting relationship we have in our lives. They’ll outlive our parents, and they were there before our spouses. That’s a big part of the reason we do these songs. Each one is a memory for our kids. One they worked on, and built together, each bringing what they can to the table. And it’s always love. Thanks for expressing it so well, Jonas Brothers! We’re the Clark family. Colt (the dad) is a professional musician and Aubree (me, the mom behind the camera) is a photographer. Together we home school our three children. To keep busy during the shutdown we started learning and recording a new song every other day to share with our friends and family. We love playing music and spending time together as a family. Hopefully these songs brighten your day!
