Dr. Sangeeta Shankar
World-renowned violinist and maestro of repute, Dr Sangeeta Shankar is the daughter of Padma Bhushan Dr. N. Rajam. She first started performing on television when she was 8 years old, and her career has been forging ahead ever since. She gave a full-fledged debut solo performance when she was as young as 16. She plays the ’Gayaki Ang’, a style often referred to as the ’Singing Violin’, bringing out all the emotions of a human voice in the violin. Her magical fingers enchant the tuneful strings of the violin to create a divine and sublime atmosphere. She has performed all over the world and has received numerous awards and applause for her violin concerts.
She has been involved in many projects in education, culture, art, music, and creative pursuits. A composer par excellence, her songs touch the hearts of people.
As in every other field, Dr. Sangeeta Shankar excelled in academics, with gold medals in Bachelors & Masters, and a doctorate in music from The Banaras Hindu University.
Presently, she is the Director and founder of a music company, Legendary Legacy Promotions Pvt. Ltd., which is a storehouse of excellent music. She also set up & headed the School of Music at Whistling Woods International Film Institute, from 2015-2021. Her work in the field of education has been exemplary. Through countless workshops, seminars an educational videos on Indian Classical Music and Culture on different topics, available to all, Dr. Shankar has been enriching different sectors - the masses, children, young music directors, media professionals, music students & musicians.
Ragini and Nandini Shankar
Born in a family with a musical lineage spanning over seven generations, Ragini and Nandini Shankar began their training in Hindustani (North Indian) Classical Music on the Violin at the tender age of 4 under the tutelage of their illustrious grandmother, Padma Bhushan Dr. N Rajam and their exemplary mother Dr. Sangeeta Shankar, ace violinists of India. They have performed in numerous prestigious music festivals all over India, Europe, North America, and South-East Asia. Known for their ability to reproduce vocal music on the violin, they have collaborated on musical projects with acclaimed artists in diverse genres. Ragini and Nandini Shankar have been signed by Decca Records US, a part of Universal Music Group for a full-length music album for their fusion ensemble ‘Taraana’. They are recipients of numerous prestigious awards such as the Jashn-e-Youngistan awarded by the Vice-President of India. They have appeared on major platforms for their talks on Indian music such as Google Talks, Tedx. They currently teach at Sharangadev School of Music and Culture and were a faculty at the Whistling Woods International School of Music, a premier film school in Mumbai for six years. They have excelled in their academics, Ragini being a top ranker in bachelor’s in mechanical engineering and Nandini, being a qualified Chartered Accountant. They both also hold a master’s degree in music.

Mosin Khan Kawa is on Tabla. He is the holder of an oral musical tradition that has been passed down for 7 generations in his family from Rajasthan (Gokulpura).
