2024 Yamaha Rattlesnake National Enduro // Round 6 Highlights // Cross Fork, PA
Welcome to Cross Fork PA for round 6 of the 2024 Redline Oil National Enduro Series presented by MSR and Beta Yamaha Rattlesnake National Enduro always tends to be a rider favorite and the layout of the this years event in the mountains of Northern Pennsylvania certainly didn’t disappoint. For 27 years the bradywine Dirt riders have taken the historic area around cross fork and Renovo to create a course that riders from across the country and of all skill levels enjoy. Don’t let let the picurous views, beautiful flowing streams, and dark canopy forest fool you. Beneath the abundant ferns and thick green moss lay rocks logs alike to keep riders on alert the entire day.
In the NEPro1 Ricky Russel aboard his Am-Pro backed Yamaha would start the day off with a test one win. However in Test 2 Russel’s day would come to an end as a crash would leave him unable to continue. Grant Baylor Baylor aboard his monster energy backed Babbitts online Kawasaki would also be claimed but the hidden obstacles of the second test.
The Return of the rockstar Husqvarna rider Trevor Bolinger for round 6 looked to be a promising one. Finishing 1st in 2 of the first 4 tests and no worse than 3rd. The win looked promising for Bolinger. But small problems in test 5 and 5 would leave the rockstar energy Husqvarna rider off the podium out of 1st place by just a min and 25 seconds. Evan smith on his Max Motorsports Husqvarna would stay consistent on the day. Finishing no worse than 4th in any test and only doing that 2 times. Happy with his performance in place that historical he’s struggled with Smith found himself in 3rd overall on the day. On rider that you can never count out when conditions get tough is the Red Bear racing Rocky Mountain ATVmc rider Steward Baylor Jr. baylor would charge his Kawasaki through the rocks and trees of PA and capture 2 test wins on the day. Knowing he’d need more to put himself on top, stew charged hard at the end and took the fastest time in test 6. Unfortunately 11 seconds was the gap at the end of the day leaving him is 2nd place overall. The man that has continued to leave all others in awe, Enduro Engineering GasGas rider Josh Toth would take his 5th straight victory this year. While only winning 1 test on the day. Admittedly Toth knew the consequences for mistakes in PA and was playing smooth and consistent. With this win The Enduro Engineering rider would increase his points lead to 35 with 4 rounds still to go.
In the NEPro 2 class Red Bear racing Rocky Mountain ATVMC Kawasaki rider Will Sievenpiper would capture the test 1 win for the second round in a row. This would be the only test win on the day for sievenpiper. The Kawasaki rider would get second on the 6th and final test and secure 3rd on the day for his second straight podium. A Cinderella story could certainly describe New Jersey Native Jason Tino. Admittedly test 1 put him in a hole with the 11th place start. However the husqvarna backed rider felt right at home by being close to home and would charge to win half the tests on the day. For his first career podium and a second place finish. Landers FMF KTM rider Grant Davis would be the fastest Pro 2 rider in Pennsylvania. Only winning 1 test but doing it in commanding fashion, the consistent finishes in the top of the class for each test would keep him on the podium for the 6th straight time this season and allow him to take home the class victory.
In the women’s Elite class Rachael Archer on the Red Bear Racing Rocky Mountain ATVMC Kawasaki has seemed unstoppable this season. However archer struggled with bike setup in the PA terrain. This would leave her unable to charge consistently through the tests and put her 3rd in the class for the day. Shelby Turner seemed to have a plan and stuck to it. The Enduro Engineering Gas Gas Rider was sitting 4th in class halfway through the day before laying down a solid test 5 time to propel her the second on the day and on the podium for the 6th race this year. One woman would stand out today. While winning every test Rachel Gutish would seemingly roll around the course with ease. The Sherco USA rider and current women’s Enduro Cross Champion is known for her technical abilities and the Rattlesnake National Enduro requires nothing less. Gutish would roll up to the top step of the podium for her first win on the season and only the second different winner in 2024.
