The Comparison of different microphone positions for orchestra instruments

Dear all, Every musical instrument has a specific sound radiation pattern, which is highly dependent from frequency. We wanted to record sound samples of the most important orchestra instruments to make these differences audible for interested people working and studying in the field of Recording Arts. Those samples have been recorded in a realistic environment and situation, means as stereo recordings in a concert hall. The listeners have to be aware of the fact, that those recordings have some kind of general validity but at the same time are also specific for the recording situation in this hall with the specific used instrument, piece and not to forget the player. We would like to thank all those who have contributed to this project and supported it. Please listen it. 2018 We started subjective evaluation experiments from July 17, 2018. Please vote for the perfer position of the microphone you think is fit for that music. We aggregate by Job and reproduction environment.
