The Beatles - Day Tripper 1965 (Official Promo Clips) (w/lyrics) [HD]
’Day Tripper’ was released as a double A-side single with ’We Can Work It Out’ in December 1965. It was written primarily by John Lennon, but credited to Lennon-McCartney. Both songs were recorded during the sessions for the band’s Rubber Soul album in the fall of 1965. According to both John and Paul, ’Day Tripper’ is a drug song. Lennon said it had double meaning. He recalled: “Day trippers are people who go on a day trip, right? Usually on a ferryboat or something. But [the song] was kind of ... ’you’re just a weekend hippie.’ Get it?“
