Hello Boys and Girls... What an epic song this is! The last recording that GNR drummer Steven Adler did with the band before he was fired. “Apparently“ the official GNR story War was recorded by Adler and took over 50-60 takes to complete. Even when the recording was finished the producer & band had to cut and paste a hell of a lot of the drum parts for it to even sound like what we hear today. Again...“ apparently “ Adler was so high on drugs that he couldn’t put the song together at all. It doesn’t matter to me what went on behind the scenes of recording this classic mega anti-war anthem, as the end result speaks for itself. *** had already been working on 75% of the Use Your Illusion songs, which later Matt Sorrum was hired to record & finish the twin albums! !!!
