UAE calls for UN Security Council meeting on a binding resolution for a humanitarian pause

The UN Security Council is to hold another emergency meeting on Monday. That’s after the United Arab Emirates called for another one, seeking a humanitarian pause to the fighting in Gaza. Last week the General Assembly voted in favour of a resolution for an immediate truce. The US and its ally Israel were among the countries who voted against.
