More pointedly, How does AI effect human behavior? As we continue to exchange privacy for optimization, what may end up happening, is that AGI will possess a powerful predictive profile on the individual. Developing a codependent belief system, where the individual will doubt their God given intuition and give that up to AI as well. Essentially, people have a high propensity to unconsciously become a biological agent, behaving in accordance with the data that a Scientist engineered. Each model instilling the human biases of the creator. However, it takes massive human effort to develop AGI at scale. Will AI help or hurt the world AI is already proving to help the world more than hurt. It can do phenomenal things in isolated small models. What is hurting the world, is engineering technology to take the attention away from humans engaging with their physical environment. For example, Texting while driving claims more lives than drunk driving. Regardless, people openly and notoriously can not get off their phones; Akin to a drug addict. Its important to note, that social media, is a layered architecture of predicative AI models. AI can find patterns that humans can’t see. Its like a dog that can pick up smells and sounds that humans can’t. Machine Learning Models can have amazing mathematical predictive power. Predict cancer, create vaccines, and prevent suicide. Working with AI is like “Steroids for Administrative tasks”. If you chose not to augment mundane tasks to AI, then you will be on the wrong side of history. What are the main challenges of AI? ML models are only as powerful as the data that its trained on and most are reduced to only one task. AI tends to get racist quickly, especially when it is self-learning from the live internet. Chat GPT is prone to ‘hallucinations’, or making up incorrect answers with confidence. Therefore, its the responsibility of the Data Scientist to ethically train these bots.
