The Monkey Farm! (1933)

“We’ve had poultry farms, duck farms, pig farms and lots of other sorts - and now comes the Monkey Farm.“ M/S of monkeys climbing through a hatch into a zoo cage. Dozens of monkeys come out of the hutch and climb up wire netting. “What a job - raising a crop of monkeys.“ M/S of the monkeys clambering around the cage - some are on the roof hanging upside down, others climb up branches. “The Head Girl is Nellie, F.S. (F.S. - Fond of Skating.)“ C/U of a chimpanzee on roller skates. The chimp wears clothes. Nellie skates towards the camera. “Nellie can honestly say she has never lost her equilibrium.“ Low angle of Nellie walking along a tightrope. People watch this stunt - mostly children. Nellie lies back on the tightrope then carries on walking. It is pretty funny despite - in hindsight - being a little cruel. Was an item in Eve’s Film Review issue number 642.
