Antony Blinken is currently the U.S. secretary of state. He held multiple roles in the Obama administration, including deputy secretary of state from 2015 to 2017, deputy national security advisor to the president, and national security advisor to then-Vice President Joe Biden. From 1994 to 2001, Blinken was a member of President Bill Clinton’s National Security Council staff. The following interview was conducted by the Kirk Documentary Group’s Michael Wiser for FRONTLINE on Oct. 14, 2022. It has been edited for clarity and length.
