The Boomerang K-17, a new-generation IFV, infantry fighting vehicle | The Kalashnikova Show Ep 33

The Boomerang K-17 is a cutting-edge Russian military hardware. The new-generation armoured fighting vehicle has wheels, not tracks, unlike other Russian armoured vehicles. The amphibious 8X8 IFV can go as fast as 100 kph on land and up to 12 kph on water. It isn’t just fast, it’s powerful too. The Boomerang K-17 is equipped with a 30mm autocannon, machine gun and four Kornet anti-tank missiles. The maximum firing range is 10 kilometres. The Boomerang has a remotely operated turret, which the designers say gives the crew extra protection. The Afghanit active protection system and sturdy armour are also there to keep the crew safe. The Boomerang IFV can carry eight tonnes of cargo and was first displayed at the 2015 Victory Day Parade and has since been exhibited at several major military events. It still has to make it into service with the Russian Army. Developers expect it to become popular on the export market because production costs are three times lower than earlier models. 0:00
