Ray Conniff: A rehearsal with the Horst Jankowski Orchestra and Rosy Singers (1981)

This is a private video shot by Clemens Krauss during the rehearsals for a radio show, titled “RIAS-Parade ’81“. (“RIAS“ stands for “radio in the American sector of Berlin“.) The rehearsals with the Horst Jankowski Orchestra and the Rosy Singers took place in the afternoon of October 30, 1981, the recording for the radio show was made in the evening before a large audience. Songs included Smoke Gets In Your Eyes / Besame Mucho / Boogie Woogie Humoresque / Somewhere My Love / Mack The Knife / Brazil / Hello, Rias (= Hello, Dolly -- not broadcast) / On The Street Where You Live / When the Saints Go Marching In (not broadcast). The show was on the air January 1, 1982. Ray brought lead singer Jackie Allen with him. Enjoy!
