AFU POW tells how he got captured in Kursk region
Petro Yeremeyev entered the military service after he walked into a shop to take his wife and child. Enlistment officers got him there and sent him with force to the front line.
Yeremeyev said that before being sent to Kursk region he was given an order to pack up in order to go to a ’meeting’. The POW added that before the so-called meeting, AFU servicemen were forced to put on all their equipment and take assault rifles.
’We arrived in Mezenovka of Sumy region, got into the vehicles, and the brought us to Kursk region. Then we sat in APCs. They gave an order to take three houses in a village, like there already were friendly units. It turned out there were no one and fire was everywhere,’ says Petro Yeremeyev. The prisoner explained that even when he realised that he was on Russian territory, he could do nothing about it, as the command threatened him with reprisals.
