In Search of a Lost Fungus - Short film

How do we find a “lost species“? This short film follows a team of mycologists from the Fungi Foundation in their search for the Big Puma (Austroomphaliaster nahuelbutensis) in the Nahuelbuta mountain range in Chile—a fungus on the Search for Lost Species list by Re:wild. The species had only been documented once by mycologist Norberto Garrido in the 1980s and hadn’t been seen again until this expedition. Expedition by Fungi Foundation, thanks to Re:wild and MBZ.
