Dozens of protesters were detained by police in Oakland on Saturday evening and into Sunday morning after demonstrators sat in the street, refusing to disband when asked to by the authorities. Around 100 protesters had gathered to rail against police brutality, and a new protest policy implemented by the city’s mayor, Libby Schaaf.
