Evan Headley shared this video of the moment a violent storm hit Des Moines on July 15, 2024. The video was recorded at 63rd Street and Hickman Road in Des Moines. The National Weather Service confirmed at least one tornado in the storm, which has been classified as a derecho. It’s Iowa’s second derecho in the last two months, with the other being the line of storms that traveled through the state on May 24.
