Maxim Vengerov plays Sarasate’s Navarra for 8 violins with RCM students
Sarasate’s Navarra is the virtuoso fun piece that can be quite tricky to play for 2 violinists. Now... how about doing it with 8? The composer had named the piece after his birthplace – Pamplona, in Navarra. He composed “Navarra“ in 1889 as a tribute to his background. By then Sarasate was 45 years old.
For me, it is always a great joy to work with students from Royal College of Music, London. Now that our general rehearsal with public is done, the next step for us is to perform it across the street at great Royal Albert Hall on 19 September 2022. Looking so much forward to it!
Violin 1: Maxim Vengerov, Haim Choi, Juhee Yang, Mira Marton
Violin 2: Elif Cansever, David Nebel, Esther Park, Lucilla Mariotti
Piano: Alexander Doronin
