PM Modi Attends G7 Summit In Italy, Russia, AI, Migration, Gaza Top Agenda | CNBC TV18

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday called for ending the monopoly in technology and said it must be made creative to lay the foundation of an inclusive society. In an address at an Outreach session of the G7 summit in Italy’s Apulia region, Prime Minister Modi said the countries of the Global South are bearing the brunt of uncertainties and tensions around the world. India has considered it its responsibility to put the priorities and concerns of countries of the Global South on the world stage, he said. The G7 summit kicked off in the luxury resort of Borgo Egnazia in Italy’s Apulia region on June 13. The annual summit gathered representatives of Italy, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union (EU). The centrepiece of the opening day was a political agreement on an outline deal to provide $50 billion of loans for Ukraine using interest from Russian sovereign assets frozen after Moscow invaded its neighbour in 2022.
