Tour of the Navigation Bridge The “Bridge“ or “Navigation Bridge“ is the navigation command area where a ship’s master and navigating officers control the ship from. In general, the lookout duties and all manoeuvring can be achieved from here. While the layout of each ship is slightly different, the Bridge is based around a general configuration of the Control Console, GMDSS station and Chart Table. The make, model and configuration of each component will also vary from ship to ship but each ship must carry the same required components. In this video I show you the vast array of equipment found on the Navigation bridge as well as a general tour of a typical cargo ships navigation bridge.
