Watch this video to see the best 10 tools I have discovered and worked with during my 10-year experience as an English teacher: 1- Online dictionaries: Seems basic, but knowing how to work with a dictionary and what dictionary to use is crucial for every language learner. I always use Cambridge online dictionary: 2- Find collocations: Words are never alone in the English language, and the group of words that often go together are called collocations. My favorite tool to find Ennglish collocations is called OZDIC collocation dictionary: 3- Pronunciation practice: You can check the pronunciation of words via an online dictionary, but how can you make sure your pronunciation is correct? Don’t pay for mobile applications to correct your pronunciation! You can use Google! Watch the video to find out how to do that. 4- British podcast: To improve your listening skill, you can listen to podcasts. If you are a fan of British accent, use BBC 6-minute English podcast: 5- American podcast: If you like the American accent, I recommend VOA podcasts to improve your listening skill: 6- Grammar checker: There are many tools you can use to check your grammar. One of the most reliable grammar checkers online is Quillbot. It is a very reliable tool to check your English grammar: 7- Paraphrasing: A very important skill you need in english writing is paraphrasing. A very good paraphrasing too is Quillbot. You can use this tool to paraphrase paragraphs in a fairly accurate way (and then use grammar checker to make sure the grammmar is correct): 8- Speaking topics: To practice speaking, you may need topics and some leading questions to help you have a conversation. ESL discussions provides a vast directory of topics and cue cards: 9- Finding movie bits: If you are a movie lover and want to practice the new idioms and phrases you have learned with pieces of movies, you can use this tool: 10- Games: A very fun method to practice your English is to play games!
